Every day offers the chance to experience more wonderful views and the fresh clean air of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Getting out into the unspoilt hills is easy, when you take to the saddle. Not only are we well served by bridle paths, but Pentre Riding Stables also has access to mile after mile of "open hill" where you will be guided across less obvious trails.

Riding Instruction, in all disciplines, and for all ages, is available at Pentre in our 2 well-equipped outdoor schools.

You will need to book for all riding activities at Pentre, as follows:

Day Visitors, Riding Only
Please complete our enquiry form to let us know what date you would like to come, what riding activities you would like to do, and any queries you may have. We will then get back to you to confirm availability and arrange to take your booking.

B&B / Self Catering Residents
Your riding itinerary can be booked on arrival, or we can make some arrangements in advance if you would prefer. Please contact us to tell us when you would like to book your accommodation, what sort of riding activities you would like to do, your level of riding experience and any questions you may have.

Own A Pony Days

Own-a-pony-days encourage the children to behave safely around horses whilst learning all about stable life.

They cost £25 a day, if booked regularly, or £50 if a one-off event.

Take care of a pony all day - from tacking them up, to brushing them down. 

Start at 11am, finish at 4pm.

Stable Management

Stable Management Course with Centre Pony Club at Pentre Riding Stables, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, December 2011 and into 2012, 5pm to 6pm. £10 a session.

Learning to groom, tack-up and catch a pony and lots more! Work towards achievement badges.

Children's Riding Holidays

Pentre is an approved Pony Club Centre and runs regular activities for children of all ages. Our comprehensive childrens riding holiday package, includes everything they need for a fun and educational trip that will create memories to last a lifetime.

Children's Riding Parties offer a unique and enjoyable way to experience horse riding. Each child gets the opportunity to ride a horse, and take care of it in the paddock, followed by a party tea in the B and B dining room.

The riding experience takes place in our secure paddock area, and the party in the dining room, which is booked for your exclusive use.

Riding Parties are suitable for children aged 4+, as due to insurance reasons younger children may not ride the horses.

Prices: Riding Parties cost £10 per child, plus £2.50 each for food.

Duration: The riding experience lasts an hour, with the tea party on top of that.

Booking: Please book well in advance, but with sufficient notice we should be able to accommodate any date.

Pentre Stables and Accommodation offers a variety of livery services to suit all requirements and circumstances.

We have around 25 schooled horses and ponies at Pentre, ranging in size from Shetlands to Shires. Our Cobs are strong, good natured and surefooted. Between them they have safely carried several hundred riders across the challenging upland trails of the National Park.
