Just opposite Pentre you will see the historic Craig Y Nos Castle, one time home of internationally renowned 19th Century Opera Singer Adelina Patti. The Castle incorporates a Grade One Listed Opera House, built by Patti as her own private theatre. The Castle is set within Craig Y Nos Country Park, which is now owned and managed by BBNP but was once part of Patti's extensive gardens. The Country Park covers around 40 acres and is very accessible. There are several gentle, way-marked walks taking you through the meadows and woodland of the Park and alongside the River Tawe. You will also see an ornamental lake, where you can sit for while and watch a variety of wild fowl. There is a very interesting Visitor Centre, within the Country Park, where you will find lots of local information as well as regular exhibitions.
