To the West of us lies the Black Mountain, where you will find Carreg Cennen Castle, perched on a rocky crag just outside the village of Trap. This is quite near to a little place where the Physicians of Myddfai once achieved fame with their herbal remedies - but which is latterly, perhaps, better known as the location of Prince Charles' 'Holiday retreat!'
Also located within the Black Mountain area are the twin lakes of Llyn-y-Fan Fawr and Llyn-y-Fan Fach.
